Regardless of your connection method, another obstacle may arise. Older televisions pose no issue, but newer models often lack the necessary red, white, and yellow composite inputs. My 2017 LG TV, for example, doesn't have them. Consequently, I purchased an adapter to connect composite sources to my television—including my 8mm camcorder. As with other recommendations here, you'll need to identify your TV's specifications to select the correct adapter, but once properly connected, you're set.
